This is my first time participating in inktober! I hope you enjoy the video:) Sorry for the length, I am making tomorrow's video shorter!
Hello trusty readers!
HI everyone!
I haven't posted in a while (sorry!) but here are some updates: I'm at the beach (YAY!) so no new posts outside the blog, ok? don't have me pictures with me:) I finished the large dragon project in January, but forgot to ever post the final pictures (Oops...) SO keep looking from those, I'll try and put them up soon. Moriarty got a new tank for my birthday (lol) my great sister from katharinescrawlingcreatures.weebly.com gave me a great tank, the Fluval Spec 2 gallon, and little Arty is totally enjoying it (although I'm enjoying it more!) I also got two "Pet" Marimo moss (named Miki and Arnold) to live in the tank. Oh and speaking of my birthday, I turned 16 this mouth, so yay:) Hmm... what else? oh yes I almost forgot.... Delilah got an updated cage. Its still the same one, but my Dad helped me build levels for her to more easily climb the cage without getting hurt. She injured herself falling the long way from the top to the bottom and I decided I really did need the levels. She's fine now and enjoying her castle. (Pics of this coming soon too). I guess thats about it! so say tune for the pictures:) Oh, the troubles with owning a cat and a hamster! Ever sense I got my Hagen, Living World barred cage, Blackberry, my kitty has taken an extreme interest in Delilah. So I have been trying some ways to get her to leave Delilah alone. I thought I'd share my story. The first downfall was when Backberry ("Baby" for short) figured out how to jump on the cabinet I (used to) keep my cage on. Well that was that. She wanted to watch Delilah at the closest radius humanly-- I mean catly possible. Well After that it was impossible to keep her off, which was surprisingly more annoying to me than Delilah, (who didn't seem to mind the predator) but Blackberry started to paw at Deliah and nearly jump on the cage in excitement, so something had to be done. I got to work, and made these two paper mach'e triangles to keep the cat at bay. Well in short, this was great for about two weeks. Then my stinker figured out how to balance on about three inches of space that the blockers left. Oh well. The next thing I have done now is moved my cage up onto my dresser, which is very high, too high for Blackberry to jump, and with not enough space even if she tried. Thus the first half of this posts name. This has worked so far, even if it makes me feel very small lol. So summing up this ramble, here are my suggestions if your cat thinks your hamster looks like a hamburger.
(by order of least to most helpful (or at least I think) 5) Give it time, sometimes your cat will just let your hamster alone after a while 4) Close the door to the room your hamster is in so your kitty can't get in (this doesn't always work if your hammys in your bedroom and your kitty likes to snuggle at night) 3) Spray your Cat if it gets uncomfortably close to your cage (Blackberry is so stupid that she forgets I sprayed her 5 seconds ago and comes back anyways, but if your cat hates the water gun, this might work) 2) Add stuff around the cage (like triangles lol) so your cat can't jump up to the cage. This probably will stop older cats or in-serious hammyburger hunters) 1) if all else fails, move your hamster cage somewhere completely unreachable to your cat (just make sure you can still get to it, like don't put it on top of your roof or your living room ceiling fan) somewhere high up, or with NO space around the edges of the stand, so that your cat can't possibly jump there. Good luck winning your own war ageist your cat. Hello blog readers! Please visit my new youtube channel! I'd like it very much if you subscribe so you can continue to watch my videos! Some of them will also be here on the blog:)
I don't think I ever said this, but I love baking. Forget steaming the broccoli and cooking the pasta, I make the dessert... or in this case breakfast;) So I fount this REALLY GREAT breakfast. French Toast Casserole!!! My thoughts: 1) first of all, unless you have like 10 people at your house, I would suggest halving this recipe. I did:) 2) I used some old (well they were frozen) hot-dog buns instead of sourdough, so you could pretty much use any "fluffy" bread. 3) this actually doesn't take very much time and you DON'T have to sit it for any time at all if you don't want to. here is the website for the recipe |
