So remember how I mentioned I was decorating my room a few months ago? Well it's been a LONG and SLOW process;) I'm only half way through, and though I'm so ready for it to be finished, I am starting to get really excited about the results. So without further adue here are a few pics I took of what I have so far! Notebooks are one of my favorite objects, I love admiring all the different colors and styles. As a writer I want to buy them all... and as a careful spender I always leave (sniff) empty handed. Well I was excited when going to the store today my mom reminded me I needed a new notebook for a class. (Hooray!) Long story short, the pharmacy isn't an ideal place to find delectable notebooks with pretty covers. So that left two options, wait (which wasn't plausible as my class wouldnt wait) or use an old one (sigh). In our house there are stacks of unused and ugly notebooks for free in the basement, so I went down there and retrieved one. Uh. It was hideous. Never fear! At the pharmacy earlier I found the most adorable soda shop stickers, and I had been secretly forming a plan since their purchase- one I readily took into affect. I was going to give that notebook a makeover. After some curfuffle with scrape booking paper, glitter, and if coarse stickers I had something intirley new. And I guess I can't feel too gypped about not having a intirley new notebook now. For some it is a still a far cry from Valentine's day, but for others, well we just can't wait to get started! For a little extra holiday cheer, make your feline feel loved with this heart-shaped catnip toy! What you will need: Felt in the color of your choice Polyfill Catnip Pearl Cotton (or embroidery thread) Also: a measuring tape Sewing AND paper scissors a pencil sewing pins scrape paper here is the bag I made my sister for her birthday. I just finished it! I wasn't sure if it would work out because I didn't use a pattern (based it after one of my old bags).
Ok so it's a bit late to be bragging about Christmas gifts, but I have JUST got around to trying out my new Lomo Instant Wide camera. I couldn't be more excited about my new camera. I've notised there arn't many reviews on it yet, so here is a "mini review" on how I like it so far! Pros to the Lomo'instant wide:
Sleek design (yes it's just cool-looking!) Mirror on front, whoever thought of this is a genius, SO easy to do selfies or (if you're like me) your own modeling pics. Self-timer lens cap (another so awesome feature! The creative abilities with this camera are great. I love that there is a double exposure option and an aperture setting. Cons: Its seriously bulky. This isn't a camera you would want to be carrying with you all day long. It's definitely NOT going to tote in your purse- something to keep in mind. Doesn't have as wide range of aperture options as the lomo instant mini- somthing I was disappointed about. Camera strap is on the side of the camera. I would have much preferred it be on the top. It's hard to hold the camera with the strap in the way of your hand. Here are a few pics I've taken so far, and yes this is me as Charlie Chaplin lol. hi guys! This is one of the projects I made for my new room theme. I'm doing a Circus/ Charlie Chaplin black, white and pink theme. (that's a mouthful lol).
There are the supplies I used: I used a shadow box (The Paper Studio brand) that I got from hobby lobby for half off. One string of Marquee Love lights (also hobby lobby) Various craft paper Letter stickers. I drilled the holes in the back and inserted the lights. There are 24 lights so I spaced them slighly less than 2 inches apart, and then a little less than 1 1/2 inches apart for the corner bulbs. To keep the lights from sagging too much I used zip ties in the back to add extra support. I am super excited about this peice. I will be hanging it over my bed to center my theme and add a little extra pop. a few days ago Phil got this new betta leaf bed! I was sooo excited as I had a betta a few years ago that LOVED this thing. Unfortunately so far I haven't much luck convincing Phil how great it is. I replaced it from its spot 3/4s below the water as derected and put it closer to the leaves he prefers to sleep in. I'm hoping he will take to it now. Will just have to see how it goes!
